Tae Kwon Do

We recently went to Portland for a Tae Kwon Do tournament that Kaeleb was participating in.  He competed in two events, poomse (routine) and sparring.  He didn't place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd for poomse but was awarded with a participation medal (which I think he liked better).  He did get 3rd place in sparring, and he was extremely happy.  We are very proud of his accomplishments in TKD.

He has been doing TKD for 2 years now, and is currently working towards his low blue belt.  He really enjoys it and would love to get his black belt!!!  At belt testing in August 2010 he broke his first board!!!  I had told him that if he broke it I would cry (and I did).  Not that I didn't think he could actually brake it.  I just thought he's only 5 and that is a piece of wood.  I guess I didn't think he was that strong, but boy was I wrong.  He tried the first time and it didn't break, but he moved his stance around and then tried again and SNAP!!!  My hands immediately went to my mouth and tears came to my eyes.  It was great.

We are very proud of him and hope he keeps up the good work!!!  We love you Kaeleb.

Bedtime Stories

Kaeleb has become quite the little reader!!!  He loves books and has started reading his own stories before bedtime.  Last night we watched the Lion King 1 1/2, so he had to go finish reading the book.  He said he was going to read to Liam so he could fall asleep.

My Family

My first blog!!!  I'm not really good at journaling so hopefully I can do better at this.

My wonderful husband Justin, we have been together now for 10 years, married since 2003.  I believe with all my heart that we are soul mates.  We went out on our first date on a Friday night and started staying with each other 2 days later and have been together ever since.

Our oldest son Kaeleb is 6 years old.  He just started kindergarten this year and loves it.  He has a high green belt in Kae Kwon Do.  He is a very smart & active little boys.  Looking forward to the warmer weather so he can get outside to ride his bike & play.

Liam our youngest is 4.  He is very energetic and growing like a weed!!!  He will start preschool next school year, hopefully with Miss Celeste.  He goes back and forth with wanting to do Tae Kwon Do or not.  He is looking forward to summertime & camping.
